The A-10 Thunderbolt II, A.K.A. "The Warthog" is an Attack Support Jet Aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force. Developed during the 1970s by Fairchild Republic, it was designed to provide Dedicated and Direct Air Support for ground troops. With a Rugged Heavily Armoured Fuselage capable of withstanding significant damage while maintaining its flight, and equipped with a 30mm GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling Machine Gun along with other bombs, rockets and missiles, also being highly maneuverable at lower altitudes, it was perfect for hitting enemy Tanks, Armoured Vehicles, and other targets in battle. It went into service in 1977, and despite plans to replace it, it's still in use at present.
