Prop Replica Rifle, 1860 Henry Repeater Rifle, Fine Action.
Prop Replica Rifle, 1860 Henry Repeater Rifle, Fine Action.
This non-firing replica rifle is modelled after the Henry 1860. In the 2010 version of True Grit, this is a replica of the gun that Tom Chaney carries.
This rapid-fire and revolutionary rifle was used in the Civil War and the American Frontier and has been featured in numerous Western Movies.
B. Tyler Henry of the New Haven Arms Company introduced a lever-action repeating rifle in the year the Civil War began. Only 1,700 Henry rifles were issued to Union troops, but as Henry’s reputation grew, Southerners dubbed it “that tarnation Yankee rifle that they load on Sunday and shoot all week.” After the war, Henry went West, and there was more than one Henry rifle in the battle at the Little Bighorn. However, unfortunately for Custer, all of the Henrys were used by the Indians. More rugged iron-framed models followed the early bronze-framed Henrys.
