Engraved Maritime Print Five Schooners with Steam Power Framed Collectible.
In the past, some sailboats utilized steam power. The first successful steamboat, the Pyroscaphe, was built by Claude-François-Dorothée, Marquis de Jouffroy d’Abbans. The SS Savannah became the first steamship to sail across the Atlantic. Although she spent most of the voyage under sail, she did use steam power intermittently. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the SS Great Western, was a wooden-hulled paddle-wheel steamship. Over time, steam-powered ships transitioned from using sails alongside steam engines to relying solely on steam.
These vessels marked significant milestones in maritime history, combining traditional sailing techniques with emerging steam technology.
